The WaterStrider is a pedal boat designed for a college project.
This project began with the challenge of developing a boat for a tourism agency in Portugal, with the aim of presenting new alternatives for pedal boats or paddle boats. This proposal should have a playful side, family status, or an alternative solution, designed for use in individual or collective sports context.

Fun, pleasure, lightness.

These are some of the principles that define the ideology of WaterStrider. From the concept, the project was developed as a sports and individual pedal boat, mostly made of carbon fibre, with an aggressive and geometric language. This project had a formal inspiration from a particular animal, the water strider, which was an influence because of its appearance and ability to keep at the surface of water. The project was also named after this incredible animal.
