Create a gift for an upper level design student.

I personally challenged myself to bring together the physical and digital worlds.

What does a gift mean? Why are gifts important? Each person can answer this question differently. In the project, Gifting Design, I set out to creating a memorable gift for an upper level Industrial Design student and I needed to accomplish some important tasks to complete this project successfully. First I needed to get to know the person I was paired with. Knowing the audience of the composition is an important lesson in design because every person holds a different perspective on design. This upper class man encouraged me to learn something new, which became the second feat I accomplished. Learning new techniques and skills is an essential to growing in design. Lastly, I set out to personalizing the experience for the gift receiver and uniting the physical and digital aspects of my project. I hope this gift allows a unique experience that is meaningful and exciting.

I created a life size snow board puzzle out of ply wood, and paint, by using laser cutter.
