VR Game - Pre Production
Gameplay Teaser (Character Animation made by me and Jeremías Bustingorri)
Since I joined The Rotfather, a transmedia project, I've been in charge of a small team for their VR game. In pre-production, I worked as a producer, screenwriter, concept artist, storyboarder, and later, in production, as a 3D animator, even doing some acting reference videos.
The 3D modelers used some of my concepts to help them make the props and characters, but I didn't do any modeling for this project (3D models shown in this presentation were made by Marcos Vinicius Gonçalves).
Script
The game's narrative consists of two parts, the Interrogation Room and the main character's memories, or Flashbacks. With another member of the team we built the story and the way the characters would react to the questions and answers, one of the main points of the game. We started organizing everything in text documents and spreadsheets, then I wrote the scripts for both parts of the narrative.
First Character Concepts
Prop Concepts
The process of modeling the revolver, was principally a search for references and a study of weapons produced around the 40's. In the gallery below, a quick sketch with some details of that time.
The character in the gallery appears in the story only as a photo. I drew the image which later became the prop.
Interrogator Concept and Color Test
Storyboard
In addition to the concepts that I had already drawn, I made more concepts to illustrate the scenes and serving as references for the characters, sceneries, props and others. Together, they form the storyboard of the narrative.
