FORMATIVE ASSESMENT
PORTFOLIO PRESENTATION

Showcasing our idea to our lectures we thought also to do a shared research page on padlet, here's the link: https://ravensbourne.padlet.org/cspampinato1/iamnotwhatyoouwantmetobe

This link is always updated as a progress map of our project!

To be updated and plan our journey for the production of the exhibition we had planned to have a diary in padlet, here's the link:

We use this padlet to show our progress map on a timeline so we can see how we proceeded during the production plan.

We decided to go to the immersive experience because the idea of involve the viewer is what we want to earn from this project. Also around the museum, in all the info of the operas, you could see QR codes to give more curiosity on that and involve the audience for a better immersive experience.

Here's a video I did on my Tik Tok account about the experience we had:

Exploring the thematic of expectations through our eyes wasn’t that easy since we moved out from our own hometowns. We lived in an environment where everyone is looking at you and judge you for whatever you are.
So we brainstormed better our previous idea and we figure it out that we could combine the theme of the expectations and the theme of love just to give a more personal experience.

NEW ABSTRACT

"It is often said that only through love do we find that invaluable mercy needed to fully embrace our true selves and face the world boldly, fearlessly.

Artists all around the world have forever praised that sensation which we are flooded by when those special pair of eyes behold us. Uncountable tales, songs, artworks have been produced to try and encapsulate and capture that moment when we are welcomed, without question, the imperfectly fragile way we are.

As Alessandro D’Avenia so poetically writes about in his The Art of Being Fragile, it is only thanks to that rapture, felt when we fall in love, that we are able to reach a more profound, intrepid and genuine self. We are revived by our emergence from anonymity when we are chosen, setting in motion a solidification of our confidence.

The personas embodied in order to please, integrate or live up to, up until that point, dissipate in value, becoming insignificant. Suddenly, it doesn’t matter who we have been, who we have pretended to be or how far off we have trailed from our core selves… this all gives way to a sense of blind acceptance.

Our Final Major Project aims to portray just this: the abrupt liberation from a past of unease and pain once one is pardoned by the gaze of a familiar stranger. Through our work, we hope to depict that realisation of who one truly is when all of the masks, skilfully constructed to subdue and hide our natures to feel less amiss, collapse or cease to matter."

To end the video and make everything more "theatrical" and "artificial" I choose to edit the colors in black and white on the parts of the performance and on the parts where we enter and go out of the scene in colors as it's more our "true self" talking to our "past selves"

FINAL VIDEO:

I generated a QR code for the video as I wanted to stick to the idea of involving the audience in the degree show and put that under our chosen pictures to expose in the exhibition. Also, we wanted to add it to the final program portfolio.
