Marill Sock Plush

Marill Sock Plush
This is my rendition of the pokemon Marill made out of a blue sock. I had a dual purpose for making this plush. The most important reason was to make a gift for my sister. The other reason being that I wanted to develop my sewing. Other than looking cute, the plush doesn't have function, although it is very squishy. The experience was very stressful, as I have basically no sewing knowledge. Despite not following my sources exactly and being unable to add limbs, I had fun and am proud of my marill.
To start the process of making the plush, I cut out the shapes of the body, tail orb and ears. Next, I sewed the tail orb and body almost completely. I left a small hole and used said hole to stuff them. The ears were also almost completely sewn up, except for the bottom where they would attach to the body. Using an attempt at the henson stitch, I closed the hole on the body. Before I closed the hole on the tail, I cut out the nose, inner ears, eyes and the notched part of the tail out of felt.  I stuck one end of the felt part of the tail into the hole in the orb part and sewed the felt into the stitch to close the hole. I then sewed the other end of the felt tail to the back of the body. Next, I sewed the ears (cut from the sock, not the felt) onto the body. Now that the hardest part was over, all that was left was to add the felt details. I sewed the white of the chest on using transparent thread. The rest of the details (nose, eyes and inner ears) were hot glued onto the body.
The video I based my plush off of is linked in addition to another pokemon plush tutorial
