Designed by Bruce Rogers in 1914, Centaur is known as the best of all the Jensonian revivals. Originally commissioned by the Metropolitan Museum of Art to be used for title displays and museum publications, Centaur has been used for book composition, headlines, and elegant advertisement pieces. Its best-known usage was the Oxford Lecturn Bible in 1930. Centaur reflects on the modesty and elegance that characterize Rogers and his typefaces.
