The visualization shows the top 40 countries in the world according to the political parity score arranged in descending order, plus Italy.
"Created by CFR’s Women and Foreign Policy program, the index ranks 193 UN member states on their progress toward gender parity in political participation. It analyzes the proportion of women who serve as heads of state or government, in cabinets, in national legislatures, as candidates for national legislatures, and in local government bodies, and visualizes the gender gap in political representation."
The following information are visualized for each country: the political parity score, the percentages of the indicators used to define this score and the geographical area.
The dark circle marks the 50% threshold.
