Street Photography: My Reflection

                                             Reflection: Street Photography

If someone had asked me before, " What is Street Photography" I would of just said photography of the street. I honestly went in blind as I was not pre-exposed to this kind of photography. So to be honest I took it lightly. However, after actually doing it I realized that it was more than just what could be seen. It was the story behind it, what you wanted to tell. I realized I had to be more social and interactive with my subjects. I really enjoyed my time doing street photography. Since the first time i did it i continued. I carried my camera everywhere i went and captured the world how i saw it. However i love the pictures i took doing my first ever session as it felt really intimate. I am shy so it is really hard for me to talk to strangers but in that moment I felt the boldest I have every felt before. From photographng in Jamaica I believe the best approach to street photography is to be as transparent as possible and as interactive as possible. Doing this you make them a lot more comfortable. Some people will say no and be ignorant but it's okay. I have also learnt to be a little bit more stronger. Jamaicans can be quite aggressive so with that comes a strong heart. This can be used in the larger scale of the world as you never know who you will come across. So being able to adjust to each situation is important.
