This is an editorial illustration. Inspire from the article "How to Survive the Apocalypse". I want to illustrate about during the background of "Apocalypse", these are the things we need for survive like the medical kit, ration, weapon and more. The "gas man" at the middle represent that he is suffering the ravages of apocalypse. The main reason that I want to illustrate this artwork is I think these things are the important things that you needed if not maybe you can only survive in one day. When we are in the midst of the apocalypse, we can only rely on ourselves and these survival tools.

Rationale:
This is an editorial illustration. Inspire from the article "How to Survive the Apocalypse". I want to illustrate about during the background of "Apocalypse", these are the things we need for survive like the medical kit, ration, weapon and more. The "gas man" at the middle represent that he is suffering the ravages of apocalypse. The main reason that I want to illustrate this artwork is I think these things are the important things that you needed if not maybe you can only survive in one day. When we are in the midst of the apocalypse, we can only rely on ourselves and these survival tools.

For the design concept, the gas mask can be represented "Apocalypse". It already being a defensive tool against hazardous environments or as a precaution against gas attacks, carries with it an association of threat and danger: it is a portentous symbol, perhaps even indicative of paranoia. These associations of impending violence and destruction associate the wearer with these feelings, as well, and gas mask wearing figures thus become ominous and sinister. The green camo on the cloth is like a “protective coloration”, to make it hard for bandits to tell exactly where he is. The texture on the cloth represented ravages of apocalypse. For the vector part, I have conducted some visual reference and transform them into to the vector art like the gun, knife, radio, and medicine.

For the color scheme, "Apocalypse" can’t be colorful it is more on desperation, hopeless and desolation no chance of survival. So, this is why I choose these 3 types of brown to use in my illustration and also can present the feeling of the end of the world.
