SHAPE AND COLOUR

I used Procreate's "handwriting" for my first draft, and I liked the changes in the lines caused by the pressure.I like the lines of the final dress, but I don't like the lines of the umbrella. I tried many kinds of lines to draw the umbrella during the blind drawing, but I was not satisfied with the result. Finally I chose one that I was more satisfied with, even so, I am happy that I made many attempts in this step.
This is a photo I took for my friend and on her head is a parasol, but since it's made of grass, we feel like it's a straw hat. So we decided to "put on" it. I love the pompous pose of this photo, she looks like she's on a Vogue cover, full of glamour. I also love the light and shadow structure of this photo!
I started with a simple black and white gray to find different light and dark relationships, and then I was thinking about color matching. During the drawing process I found that the (white) highlights were easy to find, so I looked for the brightest part first and then the gray part.
I took this photo for my friend. I tried to use lines to show the movement of the fabric.
This picture is easier to find the gray color block compared to the previous one, because the difference between light and dark junction line of this is not obvious. So I put the white at the end of the drawing. I tried four different color schemes for this illustration. (but why does the green one look like a green pepper 🫑? I didn't mean to.) But I'm still not happy with this set, maybe because the facial lines are too busy or my drawing style doesn't suit this picture. Maybe I'll try to blind draw it again after I finish this assignment to fix the problem.
When I was shooting textures, I wanted to do something different; maybe watercolor would be good material, but with salt? No, it's too dull. Many people have done it. I want to create something different ~ and what about the texture that can be added to the watercolor? Leaves? That's when I saw the coke in my hand. Maybe I could try adding bubbles to the watercolor. I lathered up the shampoo, added the watercolor to the paper, and created this effect. Even though the result was not as good as I thought it would be, it was a good try.
I love clouds, especially at sunset. The beautiful golden color scatters recklessly in the sky, as if someone has set a fire in the sky. I often take photos of clouds to record the beauty moment in daily life. I think each of them are unique and beautiful patterns .
The wind blowing through the water and the sun setting on the water create a unique and soft texture.
This part of the texture is about photography with light. I tried to photograph with light through glass at first, but I was not satisfied with the result. So I started to try to go outside at night to photograph the lights. I used the long exposure of my phone and I moved it around during the shoot and these wonderful patterns were created. I love this set of photos because I can't control the outcome and all the beautiful images are a "gift"!
I also tried to make a "fluid painting" with Photoshop's liquefaction. I like the feeling of flow, like water, like clouds, like wind. There will never be a second identical picture with this random pattern.
I imported the image into Photoshop and used positive overlay to place the image into layers. And I adjusted the colors of the images according to the style of each group of images. For example, saturation, color balance, photo filters, etc.
A lot of experimentation was done in the process of creating the background. I tried to blend the sky color of the day into one picture, and the color of the lake would change with it. The way the sky is divided is based on the background of a set of pictures taken for perfume in the previous.
Some of the color adjustments I made to the lighting photography.
After trying the sky background, I gave up on that idea because the color saturation of the illustration I chose was high, and the saturation of the sky was low. Even after making some adjustments, the two did not blend well, and the image was full of inconsistencies. After that, I tried to put the lighting image into the previously divided background and added some lighting lines to the overall picture to better the comprehensive integration. The mixture of two or more textures gives the image an unexpected effect, which I think is cool
I also tried using illustrator for the background, and I decided to add the distorted lines that I learned in my last project Line&color because I thought it would go well with the light lines in the background. I like the effect of the third picture the best because the fourth picture with the black background makes me feel very abrupt.
Try to add more textures in the background
In the end, I decided to blend the first two groups of my favorite parts. Because the first group's background colors are too heavy, it will easy to have visual fatigue. The second group of colors is a little light, and the background is too simple. The subject and background are not very high integration.
For the final, I used the lake as the base background and overlaid the light lines by adjusting the transparency and masking. Finally, I brought in the previously created vector lines as a link to the overall image to present a better visual effect.
In the end, I decided to name my work "Unique Us" because we are made up of these unique and beautiful things (the sun, the lake, the evening glow). Each of us should see our special sparkle because there is no second self in the world that is exactly the same as us.
