24/03/2022 - QUBE (1 day challenge)

Vehicle Concept / 3D CAD / 2D Graphics / renders / image post processing  - all produced in an 8 hour window.

As we don't get opportunity to showcase a great deal of our real project work supporting public transportation projects due to Client confidentiality clauses - I wanted to quickly develop something which allows me to show some of the recent learning I've gained with VRED interior rendering.

So - I came up with the idea of a stripped out near-future metro . . a dystopian hell train.

Had half an idea to explore a "Vegas meets 1984" mash up - all very neon and cheesy - but a bit seedy and oppressive at the same time...

Big Brother is most definitely watching, and the gaudy lights can't quite hide a civilisation slowly sliding into decay and collapse - last days of Rome territory.

A bit bleak if you start to look closely . . a bit of dirt and grime on things . . . hints of graffiti and discontent in the ranks.

A transit system that's perhaps got a mind of its own - scrutinising the passengers: policing - and potentially even controlling - their movements if required.

I've had fun with this - and the idea could be taken a lot further - to add detail & design content into the model which would add further visual interest, and build on the growing sense of unease.

This could be something I come back to and update from time to time - watch this space.
