This project came from one of my illustrations. I love fashion and coming up with different clothing designs and on this particular day, I drew a blazer which came out to be exactly how I imagined. I added this flower design to set it apart from your typical solid-colored blazers.
This design is something that I looked up on google. I am not much skilled yet in creating my own patterns on photoshop. Once I perfect my own textile designs, I will then use those in replace of these textile images.
This Dolce and Gabbana floral blazer set is what inspired me to add a flower print to my blazer design. I love how different this look is. It is not what your typical blazer set looks like. It is vibrant, colorful and it looks alive. I wanted my blazer design to be different but seeing this definitely helped push me more towards the floral look.
I originally looked at this photo to decide on what flower design I wanted to incorporate into my drawings. I drew these individually and ended up deciding to choose more of an outline image of flowers because I did not want it to look exactly like the Dolce and Gabbana set. which is why I ended up choosing the photo I chose for my blazer design.
Roberto Cavalli was my inspiration for color. I was originally going to go for a animal theme print based off of his designs but I ended up just doing the floral with orange/reddish tones like he used for this particular collection. I wanted to mix floral with a fire look/feel.
