A large-scale digital signage installed on the outside walls of the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History is aimed to create an iconic space for the encounter with the history and the future. On Gwanghwamun Street, where many people gather and pass by, contents containing the symbolic value of Gwanghwamun are displayed to tell citizens about history and time. Also, the story of Gwanghwamun as an authentic “Public Media Canvas” is completed by visitors’ voluntary engagement as well as the artworks of citizens and media artists

대한민국 역사박물관 외벽 초대형 디지털 사이니지로 역사와 미래를 경험하는 상징적인 공간을 만들고자 합니다. 많은 사람이 모이고 드나드는 광화문 거리에서 광화문의 상징성을 나타내는 콘텐츠를 구현하여 시민들에게 역사, 시간, 이야기를 알립니다. 또한 관람객의 자발적인 참여와 일반 시민 및 미디어 아티스트의 작품을 더해 진정한 의미의 ‘퍼블릭 미디어 캔버스’로서 광화문의 이야기가 완성됩니다.

Story
It was a quiet night as usual.
Countless stars were scattered and shining in the black sky.
When the moon was obscured by clouds, one of the stars began to glow as if breaking the silence.
Unlike other stars, this star grew bigger and blazed. Then he flew likea stroke on a canvas with a long tail and fell to the ground.
When the star fell, the whole world shook like an earthquake, and the surrounding trees and dust spread in the wind.
The star seen faintly over the dust looked very mysterious.
It was dark so you could only see the silhouette of the star. And it was round and wrapped in something like grass, like a mossy stone.

평소와 다를 것 없는 고요한 밤이었어요. 까만 하늘에는 셀 수 없이 많은 별들이 흩뿌려진 채 반짝이고 있었답니다.
달이 구름에 가려지자 별들 중 하나가 정적을 깨듯 광채를 내기 시작했고 그 별은 다른 별들과는 다르게 점점 커지면서 발광했습니다. 나중엔 긴 꼬리를 내며 하늘에 그림을 그리듯 날아다니더니 지상으로 떨어졌습니다. 별이 떨어지자 온 세상이 지진이 난 것 같이 흔들렸고 주변의 나무와 흙먼지가 바람에 퍼져나갔습니다. 먼지 안쪽에서 희미하게 보이는 별은 굉장히 신비로워 보였습니다. 주변이 어두워서 그 별은 실루엣만 보였는데 둥글고 풀 같은 것이 별을 감싸고 있어 마치 이끼가 낀 돌 같아 보였습니다. 거긴엔 밝게 빝나는 보석같은 것도 있었습니다.
그 순간 별 뒤쪽으로 빛이 발광하더니 어둡던 숲이 보이기 시작했습니다. 공간 뒤쪽으로 빛나던 빛은 별의 꼬리였으며 반짝이던 보석은 별의 두 눈이었습니다.
사람들은 그 별을 '천구'라고 블렀습니다.
