Adding Colour & Texture
Well, of course, who would I be unless I forgot to take images of just the lines? Regardless of my mistake there, here is the process of me filling the lines to add the shadows and highlights. I was really excited to do this, and although I had an issue trying to make the colours look not so dramatic against each other I enjoyed how it turned out. The colour guide really saved my life during this part of the process. Afterwards, I also rushed into the texture. I thought that mosaic tiles would be the chosen one but after thirty minutes of rendering, I decided on grain. I felt as if it made the drawing more authentic.
Colour decision
If I am being honest, I really enjoyed the greyscale look. It almost made me change my decision on the idea of pop art style. But, when colour calls you must answer. For that reason, I decided on doing two contrasting colours, purple and orange. I actually enjoyed how this turned out, It really put a spotlight on all the details in the drawing.
Creating Texture & Illusion
Without paints, I had to think more creatively. I did not quite know how I was going to create with only adobe on hand, but I thought of two-point perspectives. I started with a few boxes, trying to make each space the perfect distance from one another then proceeded to fill the colour. After I found the proper colour, I warped the boxes and then moved them around the base of my project.
Borders
I disliked the idea of having a border, when I tried to add the regular rectangles around with different colours it just did not work with the style of my piece. So I decided to keep it simple and see what lines could do with my piece. I tried the style in black and white and fell in love.
Final Product
After adding a few flowers I designed on procreate and after adding a signature my design was finally finished.
Reflection
My ideal final product would have looked different. Although I do enjoy my final product I know I could have done better. Perhaps if I included research on inspiration in my process I could have had a better idea of what to do for the finished scarf. I had such hope after I finished filling in my shapes with colour. I loved how the statue came out. I believe I just found the background very difficult and all of the guidelines tricky to accomplish. All the other students looked like they had it figured out and that may have stressed me out too much. Overall, I don't hate my final piece I just would have liked it better if I was not so stressed out and planned more ideas out.
