Bombora street furniture

Bombora street furniture
Based on a brief from City of South Perth, I designed this street furniture for South Perth foreshore.
Inspired by the movements of its surrounding, Bombora has an organic form that can accommodate human body in different ways.

There is no right way to use this furniture so children can play around it and people can choose where to sit on it or use it as a back rest or a table.
I reached out to a local engineering company and discussed the production of my design. They advised me on the best final material type and fittings for the installation of the furniture. This furniture would be reinforced with glass fiber reinforcement mesh. The main manufacturing process is concrete casting. The mold would be made by CNC cut-outs of the drawings I have prepared.
