Red Envelope Design for Tiger Year with Risograph Printing
During Aug. 2020-Jan. 2022, I worked at a risograph printing press, Risograph Museum, as a printer and designer. 2022 in Chinese Lunar calendar is the year of tiger. In Chinese New Year, we pack money in red envelopes and send them to those we care. Parents give red envelope to children, employers give them to employees and so on. We all know how important money. How much money in the red envelope is all people care. So the red envelope plays a vital part in this tradition. It makes the whole giving-money process interesting and surprising. If you don't get the money you expect, at least you had a cute envelope.
