< Venezia: 170 canals, 3,000 alleys and 450 bridges >

This city is built on an archipelago of 118 small islands, almost all of them connected to each other by approximately 455 bridges and includes six districts or 'municipalità'.
The typical gastronomy here is the 'cicchetti' of different types that you can find for 1 euro each and accompany it with a Spritz. I recommend going to 'Arcicchetti Bakaro' which is located very close to the station and still maintains the essence of the place without increasing the prices for tourists. We also found the best pistacchio ice cream in a family ice cream shop run by its owners who are two brothers born in the Veneto.
As for the gondola rides, the prices range between 80 and 100 euros per half hour, depending on the time of day or night when the price increases. These are found everywhere, mostly near the 'Bridge of Sighs'. A curiosity about the bridge is that as romantic as it may sound, in the history this bridge connected the prison with the palace, and owes its name to the sighs of the prisoners who saw the sky and the sea for the last time from there.
If you want to spend a weekend in Venice many people decide to stay in Mestre which is 20 minutes away by public transport and its prices are more affordable!
