Hook is a hip hop magazine that encompasses the forgotten parts of hip hop culture. The magazine focuses on the up and coming underdogs of rap music, but also sheds light on the importance of urban dance, deejaying, street art and street style as a part of the culture. This is a magazine for the now but it also remembers the origins of hip-hop and captures the attitude and grit that it’s known for.

This project comments on the notion of atrophy, or the degeneration of the body from disuse, to depict the declining relationship that we have with our bodies. The laser-cut pattern of decaying animal skeletons emphasizes our own mortality.
Garments are fully hand sewn and skeletal patterns are laser-cut fabric.
