The Hat with 1000 Faces

The Hat with Many Faces
While this may look like an ordinary white hat there is more than meets the eye! This baseball cap has a Neo Pixel Matrix grid embedded inside allowing for text and lights to change your ordinary hat into your own personal billboard or light show. With the first click of the button the hat will display the chosen text and with a second click go into "Party Mode". The hat is powered by a small portable battery that slides into your pocket and the box with the button connects to your belt loop or pants.
User Testing

I started my user testing early on before I had my button working so I could ask my first two testers to suggest where they would feel more comfortable with the button being. The first two testers (the two on the right) suggested I make the button separate from the hat but still accessible. I went with a straight forward button coded with two modes. Then when the button was finished I had two testers (on the right) test the adjustability of the "Button Box" and see if it would clip on with different types of pants. The issues that were brought up from user testing were that the hat was a bit small and with the long wire it is a bit of a process to remove. If I could expand on this project in the future I would find a way remove the wire entirely and make the button accessible on the hat somehow.
