Theme: Coffee Tables and people
Size: 15 x 21cm
Medium: Micron pens on Brown paper
I chose to document Coffee tables. I was sent images by people in different contexts. The objects and the time it’s set in says a lot about the person, their choices and surroundings. I found this to be an interesting way to learn about someone.
Theme: Series of similar things
Size: 20 x 20cm
Medium: Oil pastels on tracing sheets
I chose to draw Blue Perfume Bottles. We have a large collection of perfumes bottles at home and many happen to be blue. I thought it gives me a challenge as I don't find drawing glass easy.
I chose shades of blue pastels to work with on tracing paper as it adds a sense of transparency. I chose to layer them to show composition and individuality and also play with the idea of transparency.
Theme: Bills during a week
Size: Varied
Medium: Color pencils on receipts
I decided to document my purchases during the week. Many have the habit of storing bills. I took from that idea and wanted to also document the shops I made those purchases from by drawing them out. This gave me chance to look at different shop fronts.I’ve presented them in a file because that’s how bills are usually stored and could add to a large collection.
