Plantain Papers approached me with their collaboration project with WeTransfer/ WePresent  and a Vibe called Tech around how African folklore connects the diaspora.

They interviewed 5-6 Black people around the globe to first retell a common folklore story from their upbringing as they remember such as the Anansi Spider and the Moon, Anansi & the Turtle at dinner time and  the story of Soucouyant—pronounced “Soo-koo-yah”—a shape-shifting, soul-sucking demon who appears as an old woman by day.
