Alien Creature Icon Set

Concept & Objectives
I have created this Icon set showing three different alien creatures from 4 different perspectives. The four different positions are front, side, rear and top view. Choosing to do this set helped me to work on having more consistency, and practice implementing techniques I have not used before. This allowed me to practice lighting and shading depending on the different positions.
Sketches
I knew I wanted to make little alien figures. I had the idea of doing a transition through evolution, but decided I could follow more consistent rules if I used the theme of perspective to push me in a different way. The second page was where most of my inspiration lies for the icon set as I was able to find some unique creatures that conveyed cute but creepy creatures.
Feedback
I got the recommendation to align the squiggle movement lines more clearly to the body of the creature so it didn't stick out so much. I began by fixing that, then realized I rather remove them so as not to take away from other elements of the icons and keep them more consistent. I also was told that it is important to connect limbs and attachments more naturally rather than abruptly. Starting thicker and letting it flow through each alien will help it to look more natural.
The Final
From draft to final, I have seen this improve in many ways. I implemented feedback to the best of my ability and learned valuable skills along the way. With each icon facing in a different direction, there is a noticeable difference in lighting. This also helped to add a shiny effect to these slimy aliens. The rules are followed consistently throughout with color, eyes, and various shapes. I am happy with the work I have complete and the experience I gained through these little creatures.
