Sergey & Iliana's Wedding

Wedding Package
Date: September 2013

We wanted our wedding to be very private and homey. We have a passion for adventures and travelling. My husband and I spent a lot of time around the Ontario Wine Region (Niagara Escarpment area). We love exploring and supporting the local artisans, hence why we picked a family-owned winery for our special day. We had a 125 year old barn to work with as well as an observatory to enjoy a clear-night sky.
Our hand-written invitation was a humorous map. It retraced our endeavours to entertain people and inspire them to look around. We pointed out numerous local attractions, such as bed&breakfasts, a cheese company, wineries, restaurants, parks, etc.

Inspired by vintage, treasure maps, we designed a wax seal to apply to the invitations. We also screen-printed burlap and created custom wine bags to give as wedding favours. To enhance the experience, we painted and placed wooden signs on the way. We carved out wood trunks and placed candles inside them to create warm ambient lights.

After taking flower arrangement classes, my sister and I made the bouquets and centre-pieces. We picked seasonal flowers in neutral yet warm tones, while introducing local greens. We placed our custom made jars on long faded, refurbished wooden planks at the centre of all tables. All these details added up to create a holistic look and feel for our special day.
