״Live Comics״-Art Direction Project

These photoshoots are the product of a project from an art direction course in which we were asked to build a photography set inspired by an artist.
We chose the artist Roy Lichtenstein who is known for his works that were influenced by the world of comics. Lichtenstein, a pop artist, took commercial art and turned it into high art by enlarging comic book scenes to extreme sizes. The challenge in translating his works from two dimensions to an entire set was not only expressed in the creation of the set but also in the idea that enveloped it. We chose to take a daily moment of breakfast as a translation into ‘commercial art’ and turn that moment into real art.
We created two sets consisting of a real set and a set made entirely of paper.
The inspiration for his works is expressed in color, movement, and illustrative style.
