Bee Pollen - Honey Brand

Bee Pollen - Honey Brand
Brief presentation of the concept and its components

Our brand wants to present itself as a honey brand made of natural products and without preservatives, which promotes naturalness and tradition, because all the ingredients of the product are extracted from nature, we want the packaging to represent all these values.
A brand's commitment to adopting eco-conscious practices is essential to both the environment and a company's image and reputation.
That's why the materials used for the label, but also for the box are recyclable and eco-friendly materials. As for the design we wanted to create something simple which describes exactly our type of product, without misleading consumers, but visually pleasing from all points of view.
We chose representative colours, symbols that are easy to understand and interpret, and fonts that are easy to read, that will create for the consumer the image of a product that looks like a tasty but healthy dessert.

Symbols used in the concept and the motivation for choosing them

We used simple and self-explanatory symbols and shapes. When we tried to emphasise a text, we framed it in a geometrical shape such as an oval or rectangular shape.
Other symbols are the organic shapes that we used such as the bee, which is an obvious and safe choice, the flowers in the corners, and some fruits that we decided to add later when we digitalized the labels, but we didn’t put on the sketches.
Another thing that we did, is to frame the whole label and package in that wavy frame that we drew.

Selected color combination (RGB hexadecimal values) and the color mixing principle

We used #fbf472 as our dominant colour for box and labels, as for the others we went with a colour pallet composed of analogous colours,  being  #fad33d, #bb3d04, #dc8938 and #fae7bf, which are neighbouring colours on the colour wheel and are considered to be quite versatile and easy to work with.
Because we want to be obvious to our customers what is the product we are sell we choose colours that represent the colour of the honey and other warm colours that are on the same side of the colour wheel.
We tried to create a more texture and a pleasant visual package, by combining the colours and using them as a gradient and using a texture that will simulate the texture of a honey hive.
Various information about the deliverables

It isn't recommended to store your honey in non-food plastic containers or metal containers because they can cause honey to oxidize. Glass jars with lids are also ideal for storing honey as long as the lids are tight so the honey won't be exposed to air, while not being used.
In our case, bottling by hand using recycled-content glass will be our way to go.
As for the shape we choose a Kilner type of jar made of transparent glass, with a more narrow mouth than the standard one, but wide enough so that a spoon can slip through.
The label will be 63 mm in height and 76 mm in height, and the material will be made with recycled matte paper made of 100% PCW.
For our packing box, we will use cardboard packaging.
