I created poster art for the volunteer art call by Save Our Great Salt Lake. Since I grew up in Salt Lake City, the health and well-being of that area's environment and ecosystems are of great importance to my family and me. Through creating this poster, I learned about the Eared Grebe, a species of waterfowl that heavily relies on heavily saline lakes. At some point in their migration, over 90% of the North American population of Eared Grebes visit the Great Salt Lake. Among other waterfowl and animals, these creatures are at risk if the lake continues to dwindle in water level, not to mention the lakebed that, if exposed, may contaminate the air with poisonous material such as arsenic.
