Stop Motion Promotion
For this project, we were challenged to create a short stop motion animation that can be used as a promotion piece for a band or company.

Mood Board
I decided to create a promotion piece for Tame Impala's album, Currents. The song I chose to use is Closer.
When choosing this for my promotion piece, I wanted to play with geometric shapes that would be easily manageable to sculpt when creating the stop motion. With this, I was inspired to make everything have a trippy effect, by showing abstract shapes that form into new abstract shapes, while incorporating pops of exciting colors that fit in with the Tame impala brand.
Brainstorm Sketches
In my first sketch stage, I began by listening to the song Currents on repeat, and tried to visualize kinetic imagery that could take on new shapes and forms. I wanted to develop my own interpretation of what it would look like if the album cover came to life.
Planned Sketches
Once I had a solid plan, I sketched out each panel for basic reference, and left the timing up for musical interpretation.
Clay Asset Examples
When shooting this video, I enjoyed matching my ideas in cadence to the music. It was an exiting challenge, and the clay added a nice organic flow for the psychedelic effect I was going for.
