As part of a school assignment, I was tasked with designing a logo and creating an advertising plan for a fictitious media advocacy campaign.  The result is "Hunger & Plenty", a campaign to raise awareness about food waste in the United States.

Project Statement:
The concept for my New York City public awareness project is called Hunger &
Plenty, and my approach involves conveying awareness through images of waste. The concept is to place images of wasted food on and around areas in the New York City where garbage is thrown out. One image depicts human hands throwing away uneaten food and the other is a large pile of discarded, edible food in a landfill. My goal is to draw attention to both sides of the process – the act of throwing away food on a daily basis, and the massive amounts of waste that this generates.
The images would be wheat pasted onto walls and surfaces, along with accompanying text meant to look stenciled directly onto the wall. The phrases “Eat Leftovers” and “Buy Less” are the largest text, in order to catch the attention of passersby, and smaller facts about food waste appear below. Finally, viewers will be directed to a website in order to learn more and take action.
