Ghosts of Brazilian Democracy

With all its geometrical and mathematical simplicity, there is a heavy meaning to the light threads that build this work. The seven blocked woven rectangles represent the basis of a democratic society (elective access to places in government, free elections, universal suffrage, freedom of expression, free media and free source of information, associative freedom, and freedom to self-defense); the Brazilian democracy, however, seems to evanesce as corruption in the executive, legislative and judiciary powers continuously spin a web of lies around the people denying them necessities such as health and education. This work is a subtle representation of the current Brazilian political scenario, and the ghost that has become Brazilian democracy.
