Lúthien (also known as Tinúviel which means “nightingale”) with Beren’s help, entered Morgoth’s fortress, put him under an enchantment, and took a Silmaril from his iron crown. The star and three dots on the nightingale are pulled from one of the heraldic devices that Tolkien created for Lúthien.
