Sadri Alışık was born on April 5, 1925. He was an actor in movies and one of the best comedians in Turkey. Since his childhood, he was interested in theatre and cinema. After İstanbul Highschool, he continued his education at Mimar Sinan Fine Art University. He played in his first movie “Günahsızlar” in 1944. After that, he started to be known with characters like “Turist Omer” and “Ofsayt Osman”. In the “Turist Omer” series he played this character Omer, who always founds himself in weird situations and had iconic gestures. In 1971 he won “Golden Orange National Film Competition Best Supporting Actor Award” with “Afacan Küçük Serseri”, in 1994 he won “Golden Orange National Film Competition Best Actor Award” with “Yengeç Sepeti”.

He was one of the most important actors in Turkey’s history. During his career, Alışık played over 200 movies. In addition to his acting career, he was also interested in poetry and painting. Alışık published his collection of poems in a book called “Bir Ömürlük İstanbul”.
