OPPORTUNITY:
Under the Plexifilm label, design a DVD series featuring graphic designers Paul Rand, Reid Miles, Alvin Lustig, and Matthew Leibowitz. This group became known as the New York Style.
SOLUTION:
This series showcases the work of the New York Style graphic designers. The idea is that each designer was a "visual translator" during the mid-twentieth century era. They communicated ideas in visually effective ways unlike many who came before. Each designer was given a word associated with their work. The four words are Identity, Rhythm, Poetry, and Ingenuity; these represent Rand, Miles, Lustig, and Leibowitz. The imagery, typography, and color palette are representative of each designer's work. The removable inside panel contains a die-cut of the artist's imagery, and three words that describe the artist's word.
