This series of images documents a small part of a beautiful journey of an expectant mother 25 year-old Joanna with her 1st child with partner Rob. Having not known Jo before taking the photos, I spent time with her for a series of weeks to get to know her and hear about her experience of pregnancy. Whilst being excited and nervous, she is still driven to keep working up until her due date, Jo is passionate and hard working towards her career and she knows that after the arrival of her baby this will change her life completely.
"When i was at my baby shower I was given loads of stuff and i was like.. oh this is great what is it? Being a new mum you have no clue what all these bottles mean and people have different experiences of labour.. You never know what is exactly the right way to do it so the only way i'm assuming i'm going to know is that mummy knows best"
"I remember the first time she kicked in Nando's, I was waiting for my mango and lime chicken at the time and i was dying of thirst and hunger and she suddenly just kicked me and i remember thinking 'oooh she loves Nando's'.."
"I heard a thing about drinking raspberry leaf tea, is that alright to have?"
"It doesnt make you go into labour, it just makes your contactions more efficient.. So its not going to do you any harm, and it might do you some good"
"Your life isnt just yours anymore, the only one thing that i've been lately thinking about is i'm never going to be just 'me' again i'm going to be 'me and my daughter'..'"
