"the breakdown of a breakdown" is a 5-part accordion book series from the graduation display and exhibition "by longing of shade and solitude'", designed by students of Ambedkar University Delhi, batch of 2022.
The conceptual premise of the book is creating an image of home over and over which is made and unmade to shatter.
The book contains writings, poems, drawings, photographs, art work documentation by the students produced during the three semesters they spent in lockdown, working in an online mode of operation. The works are generally centered around the thematic and contextual spaces of home. Its image with familial characters is presented in a discontinuous fashion. There is no linearity to the narrative and it can be entered through any page, opened or stumbled upon.
