Poses assignment: Joy

For this pose assignment we were given the word joy. So with this in mind I decided to create a retro high energy skater girl named Cherry. A little about Cherry  , she is a highschool student who loves to skate at her local skating rink on the weekends. As for physical descriptions she is about 5’3 ,with rosy cheeks , caramel toned skin and bright platinum blonde hair which she kept in two bubble ponytails. Her outfit is an array of pinks and purples with different hues and saturations. As said before Cherry has high energy but also she is extremely bubbly and friendly. She is very chatty and loves to chat up new people she meets.
Now a little more insight into the poses I drew. In the second pose you can see how joy comes through with the openness of her arms and body language. In the first pose you can see her pose is pressed in and compact like she is about to explode with joy. Honestly Cherry  looks very excited just being there through all the drawings. In the poses you can see weight and use of perspective. Also her face throughout the sketches  is always smiling in some way either with her actual smile or through her eyes. Plus you can see that through all the poses Cherry is skating and that brings her the most joy. She is the happiest when skating. Not only does the activity make her happy but brings her opportunities to meet new friends at the rink. And the biggest reason why she feels that way is that she was raised an only child and it was always hard for her to make friends. Lastly I would say the movement in all the poses are the most important. As shown you can see that they are all caught in motion. I feel that is what people would look at first when they see these sketches Or her hairstyle!
