Colourful cornerstones for Norway's most important property developer
Statsbygg is the Norwegian government’s building commissioner, property manager and developer. Statsbygg provides and maintains quality public facilities and workplaces for other state agencies.
The work of Statsbygg includes commissioning building projects like the Norwegian Opera House in Oslo or The Global Seed Vault in Svalbard and most of the Norwegian embassies around the world, as well as many national heritage properties. Tank spent almost two years of sketching, developing, testing and fine tuning before finalizing the cornerstone. The cubes are 3D-printed and varnished in Statsbygg's colour palette and equipped with a window to be able to see the content.
In modern times, symbolising the start of construction by using the cornerstone has become a solemn cultural act to honour those involved.
