History of coffee pods
Coffee pods history: In 2018, an incredible 59 billion coffee capsules were produced. In the same year, the global coffee pods market reached a value of nearly $1.3 billion. It is estimated that Nespresso alone produces around 14 billion berries per year and hundreds of their drinks are drunk every second.
It seems impossible to think back to a time when the capsule market didn't exist. In today's coffee industry, the pods are a constant. They are a permanent fixture and we all accept the incredible growth they achieve with each passing year. But where did they come from? And how did it all begin?
