This painting was created in response to triggered memory. With the use of color and scraping away of paint with my fingers, I hoped to convey the hostile atmosphere created around the word "fag". This is a commentary on how some people in our society today use homophobic slurs to label fellow members of society in a negative light and how so many LGBT members throughout the world face an immense amount of hatred, disgust, contempt, and hostility all because of the people they love.
