Temple of sun (art installation)

The Temple of the Sun was one of the most sacred places in the prehispanic world and worldwide. The space was full of gold, money, shiny abstract geometric figures and rituals about music and dance, sun and life. The installation consists of yellow foils hanging from the ceiling at different heights, forming labyrinths. In the center is a red foil that visitors can approach and interact with. The space is illuminated with different lights. The performance takes place every hour and lasts 5-10 minutes. At the beginning the room is dark, then gradually the light and music come. As the lights change, the performers move around the room and the audience follows along with the performers. In addition to the performance, visitors can walk through the installation, lie on the floor, enjoy the "sunbeam", experience the space, and refresh themselves with an ice cube at the end.
