"Kathryn" Year One Student Film. Suspense/Chiller

Since starting my course and for a long time before, I've wanted to film a story. I am a story teller at heart. I once got called a modern day Bard. It's something I've always remembered. Though I wanted my first film to be memorable. For better or for worse. So I suggested to my group to do a suspense/horror flick. We had a basic concept of a women going crazy, which turned into a women recovering from an abusive relationship of which loses her mind and ends up ending the life of her ex-boyfriend. However the twist is, it wasn't Lucas, her ex-boyfriend she killed, it was her best friend Kenny. She went crazy and saw Lucas' face everywhere, even on the face of her best friend.
I couldn't really point out what movies inspired what as alot of the ideas I have portrayed thus far have been mix-matched with a many different variety of film genre. I am with films, the same way I am with music, I like something of everything. I appreciate a film for what it is, especially having the chance to watch a documentary about it and find out what the inspirations behind it was and how it evolved into the film I watched.
There were not many technical problems to take into consideration. Location and film time were the ones we were most concerned with. However, I should have taken into consideration the sound recording levels on the zoom as some of the footage was recorded way to loud and as a result couldn't have the distortion removed. Thankfully it was only in a few places, but is was bad enough for it to bug me.
We had issues with our first shoot in regards to location as the room we were in was extremely echoy and as much as I have some experience with Adobe Audition I was not able to correct it completely.
Post production was handled by me. As it was my idea initially and because I have the most editing experience I took lead on the edit. I worked from home as I already have an extensive library of resources including royalty free music. I had a clear process of where I wanted to take this film and thanks to the acting of Connor, Joe & Sophie I was able to produce something that shocked most and impressed some others. The editing process took me 9 straight days. Starting from between 9:30 and 10am to sometimes past 2am the following morning.
I used not only Premier Pro but also Photoshop and Audition to produce the film in as higher quality as possible. It could have been a lot better, however my skills in Audition are not quite homed yet.

I am very proud of this piece. This is the first short film I ever made and I am in the first year of my three year degree.
