BROADIE Digital Art Workshop &‌ Artist Talk 9/28
The DFPA  alumni are still making BOWIE BOLD moves.  His name is BROADIE ('08) and was a student when VCDMA was formerly under fine arts (previously known as Computer Graphics) and just when BSU changed from a BA to a new BS degree program. His work is prominently featured as one of the official artwork and promotional posters for the hit show on Showtime,  The Chi produced by  Lena Waithe. Coincidentally, Lena Waithe provided BSU and VCDMA with a special HBCU and advanced screening of the film, “ Queen and Slim” some years ago and she is not only an amazing writer, producer, and showrunner but a great supporter of HBCUs and we will forever be grateful.
Broadie came to BSU lecturing a class on how he creates his portraits and it’s really cool to see his process his journey from where he started to where he’s currently at.
