These image are a combination of infrared and normal visible light. An 820nm filter was used to photograph an infrared exposure. Then the filter was taken off and a normal exposure was made. The two exposures were combined in Photoshop. Some of the images, the IR exposure was just used a luminosity layer, which made the foliage lighter. Other images the IR exposure was used to brighten the red channel and used as a luminosity layer. This turned foliage red and lighten it.
Oaks and fog. The IR exposure was just used to lighten the foliage.
Caples Lake. The IR exposure was used to brighten the foliage.
Silver Lake. The IR exposure was used to lighten the foliage and deepen the sky.
Shell Beach. The IR exposure was used to turn the green alga red.
Tide Pools. The IR exposure was used as a luminosity layer to brighten the alga and to darken the water and sky.
Surf Grass. The IR exposure was used to turn the alga red, but a mask was used to isolate the surf grass to it remained green.
