Atomic World: Elements archiving art book
According to the periodic table which shows all the elements
that humans have discovered so far,
everything that exists in the world is consisted of substances
within elements just a little more than a hundred.
For example, sodium atoms make up the salt we commonly know,
but the sodium is also used to dye jeans, melt snow, or illuminate streetlights.
These simple and small atoms make up the world we live in, changing shapes and forms.
Therefore, I archived the 118 atoms and turned it into a book,
showing for which it is used and where it can be found.
아토믹 월드: 원소 아카이빙 아트북
현재 인간이 발견한 모든 원소를 표기한 ‘주기율표’에 따르면
세상에 존재하는 모든 것들이 100개가 조금 넘는 원소들로 구성되어있습니다.
예를 들어 나트륨원자는 우리가 흔히 알고있는 소금을 구성하고 있지만,
청바지를 염색하거나 눈을 녹일 때, 혹은 가로등의 불빛을 내는 데에도 활용됩니다.
이렇게 단순하고 작은 원자들이 모습과 형태를 바꿔가며 우리가 살고있는 세상을 구성하고 있습니다.
따라서 이 118가지의 원자들이 제각기 어떠한 용도로 사용되어지고
어떤 곳에 존재하고 있는지를 보여주는 다양한 사진들을 아카이빙하여 책으로 제작하였습니다.
