Ello Bottle & Straw Brush Set
Ello is known for their trendy, feminine housewares products - specifically their hydration items like water bottles and tumblers.
While co-oping at Leapfrog in Spring 2019, my boss asked a good question: why aren't we thinking about how people clean their Ello bottles? This started an exploration into the Ello Bottle and Straw brush set, which was designed during my Spring and Fall co-ops in 2019 and is now a best selling item at Target.
Since this project was Design-led, it didn't come with the typical Marketing brief. This allowed for a deep dive into the entire process of cleaning. While the bottle and straw brush are what went to production, other cleaning products were also explored.
Question that were asked during the ideation process were:
-Can the straw brush be integrated into the handle?
-Is there opportunity for a kitchen cleaning set?
-Do consumers prefer silicone or nylon bristles?
-How can this item stand out as a stylish, but highly functional kitchen accessory?
Finally, a direction was chosen, and this best selling product proudly hangs from the hydration accessories shelf at Target. Aside from the "super cute" looks, its a very functional product with details such as hanging loops and a removable, dishwasher safe brush head.
The brushes recently went viral on TikTok.
