'Island' from the 'What on Earth?' series

The 'What on Earth?' series of ceramics carry a sense of being animate, as if they might be a living form. This 'biomorphic' presence underpins every aspect of the work, from their colour, form and texture to their scale, layers and functionality.

Made from stoneware clay and inspired by the forms of different decaying fruits, the sculptures highlight the charred, textured surfaces. They are hand-built and mainly unsuitable for outdoor display.
