Cedars is a Middle Eastern restaurant that lives in Hyde park, a south side eclectic neighbourhood of Chicago city and a home to many educational institutions with a great racial mix. The restaurant is over 3-decades old and has been owned by the Abdullah family, starting from the father Sudki Abdullah who passed the baton to his youngest son Amer Abdullah, the current owner.
Amer wanted to rebrand the restaurant and change the menu to reflect the vibe and the beautiful mix of people’s backgrounds in Hyde Park. By changing the name from Cedars Mediterranean to Cedars of Hyde Park, the brand was able to grow its roots further in the community and pay respect to its 3-decades old, yet present a fresh look and bold colours that makes it clear, “management has changed.”
