Folktale week is a week long art challenge on Instagram, with seven prompts to peruse your favourite tales, discover new ones, make incredible art, and even write your own!
This year, I wanted to enter a different world with my own stories, thus developing new characters to engage with that sought of environment and still have the magical vibe of tales we grew up listening and reading. Some cute little 'mushrooms' came to rescue!

Welcome to the secret
'Magical Mushroom Town'
1. FOOL
Meet the red shrooms, often fooling around a bonfire, gathering mystical flowers. What are they up to is a a mystery to other fellow shrooms, just like the whole town is to humans.
2. TREE
Meet the Bookworm shrooms. Under their favourite mystic library tree, they illuminate their minds and books alike, with added fruit supply.
3. STARS
Fire elements light up different here, so do the stars, flying out of the flowers, a phenomenon only few know about in the town. Experience to believe!
4. REBEL
With bushes all around, grows a rebel group of shrooms; to protect the powers of their supernatural world, from invaders.
5. COSTUME
Meet the detective shroom, often roaming around in his bushy costume, to spoof fellow shrooms and camouflage into the flora of town.
6. POTION
The tiny shroom takes a dip in the magical potion. What's the purpose? A mysterious, may be dangerous aftermath awaits.
7. VICTORY
For many shrooms around the world, reaching the Mushroom Town is nothing less than a victory!
