Following work consists of Kurtuluş Avenue’s façades and how they overlap. The avenue’s history goes back to 18th century and being the first permission to accomodate in Şişli district. The avenue hosts many old buildings and newer buildings. While the urban transformations, constructions in each streets effects the typology and the hieararchy of the avenue, the avenue and the neighborhood tries to adapt itself and defend itself against the unwilling transformation.

Avenue consists of two parallel lines of buildings extending over 1 kilometers length. Taking photographs of the façades while walking on the cross side of the road from the beginning to ending and ending to beginning and making the photographs overlay like Franks Machalowski does, a one type of new avenue type was created with overlaying façades and making the avenue one avenue rather than two way long avenues extending both ways. A hybrid of old and new façades create a chaotic harmony.
