I got to El Cotillo a couple of hours before I could check in to my apartment and went for a walk. I was drawn by a strange sound caused by water from waves slamming up against the cliffs and then finding their way up the cracks between the rocks. As I looked around I spotted all these crabs walking around though some of them blended in with the background really well, being the same colour as the surrounding cliffs. There was this beautiful red one though that stood out which you can see in the last pictures. At this time I had my wide angle lens so had to get really close, which these shy creatures didn’t seem to appreciate at all. I also got soaked by the splashing water while trying to get their pictures but in that heat it was even refreshing. Thank god for the weather sealing on my camera and lens though!
