Vanishing Livelihoods : The Seen and the Unseen
This project aims to depict the unseen aspect of the food vending livelihood in order to bring awareness about the story of the food vendor and his life away from the street to his customers. Through an illustrative medium, the visual languages of two street vending cultures were researched, explored and translated to represent a story of the food vendor which includes his place of origin, entering the food vending sector in a city, fighting for space and surviving in a food vending competitive market through a 20 page silent comic. The significant incident of the migrant crisis in India that occurred due to the lockdown during the COVID pandemic in 2020 is also an important part of this story
